The toddler and the JKG class enjoyed their field trip to the Karnataka Veterinary Animal and Fisheries Sciences University, Hebbal. They especially enjoyed the visit to the rabbit house and loved petting the rabbits.
We had the Sankranthi celebrations on the 14th of January. The children learnt about the importance of celebrating Sankranthi and also saw the process of making a rangoli. The rangoli was the result of the creative efforts of Ms. Swati and Ms. Sowmya Rao. The children also painted and decorated a pot and took it home filled with the traditional Ellu-Bella mixture.
The JKG and SKG class had gone on a Field Trip to Snow City. The children had a wonderful time there playing in the Snow, making snowballs, sledding down the slide and also enjoyed exploring the snow.
The JKG class also harvested the vegetables (brinjals, carrots and tomatoes) they had planted as a part of the Beans Unit. They especially enjoyed pulling the carrots out.
In January, we also celebrated the Star of the Day. Each child was a star for a day; they got to wear a special crown, got a certificate and were made to feel special for the day. The Toddler and Nursery children bought their favourite toy or book to show to class for show and tell, the JKG class bought a favourite book to read to class and SKG spoke about themselves and their family.
The Republic Day celebrations were held today at school on the 23rd of January. The Toddlers and Nursery had a fancy dress competition and the JKG and SKG children had a speech competition where they spoke about a freedom fighter. The school also sang the National Anthem in the end of the Assembly.
Congratulations to the Winners and the participants!
