Guidelines

Uniforms-
 
Children are expected to be neatly dressed in their full uniform.
 
Summer
 
Boys: Red half sleeve t-shirt with white pin-stripes on the collar and sleeves, with the Maple Bear logo on the left side; Blue denim shorts, white socks with two red stripes and ordinary/normal black shoes.
 
Girls: Red half sleeve t-shirt with white pin-stripes on the collar and sleeves, with the Maple Bear logo on the left side; Blue denim divided skirts, white socks with two red stripes and ordinary/normal black shoes.
 
Winter
 
Red full sleeve t-shirt with white pin-stripes on the collar and sleeves Red v-neck pullover with white pin stripes on the neck and sleeves, and Maple Bear logo on the left side; Blue denim trousers, white socks with two red stripes and ordinary/normal black shoes. The same applies for both boys and girls.
 
Meals and Bags-
 
Children are expected to eat one meal in the centre. Please make it a point to send light and nourishing meals. Junk food is not encouraged at the Maple Bear Centre. The children should carry a light bag with a Tiffin box and water bottle. Toys, colours, books etc. are not be brought to the centre unless asked for by a teacher for a specific activity. To minimise risk and loss of personal belongings, Maple Bear discourages the practice of bringing toys, jewellery, electronic games and other such items to school. Please include a change of clothes for emergency purposes.
 
Birthdays-
 
On their birthdays, children are permitted to distribute two sweets per child in the class. In case invitation cards are to be distributed, this can be done through the class teacher only if all the children are to be invited. A class list will be available at the centre for the parents to send specific invitations.
If a parent wishes, the child’s birthday can be celebrated by having a class party. This needs to be organised under the supervision of the class teacher with assistance by the parents. The centre may organise some games and activities as part of the celebration. Any private celebration is not encouraged at the centre.
 
Punctuality, Absenteeism and illness Policy:
 
Please make punctuality a habit. Children must be in school by 9:00 a.m. and toddlers must be picked by 12:00 noon, the rest of the students must be picked up by 12:30p.m.
Parents are requested to send a leave application for an absentee child. In the event of illness, parents are responsible for providing prior notice by informing the centre.
 
Children should not attend school under the following conditions-
  • Fever
  • Diarrhoea
  • Vomiting
  • Stomach cramps
  • Chicken Pox
  • Measles
  • Open sore
  • Mumps
  • Whooping cough/asthma attack
  • Head lice
A students taking leave due to prolonged sickness must produce a medical certificate by a registered doctor. If a student is returning to school after suffering from an infectious or contagious disease, he or she must produce a Doctor’s certificate permitting him / her to attend school.
 
Symptoms of illness upon arrival-
 
If a child is observed to be exhibiting any of the symptoms previously listed upon arrival at the Centre, our Maple Bear staff will not admit him/her and will request the parent / guardian to take the child home.
 
Symptoms of illness during school hours-
 
In case the child is found to be sick while in school, the child will be out in a quite rest area where he /she will be mentioned and offered fluids to dink. The parent /guardian will be notified and asked to collect the child immediately.
 
Withdrawals-
 
At least one month’s prior notice must be given for the withdrawal of a child; otherwise a month’s fee should be deposited in lieu of notice. The month in which a child withdraws must be paid in full.
 
Change in contact details:
 
If any change in the residential or office address/telephone number of the parent/guardian should take place, then the centre should be notified immediately.
Parent’s visits and meeting with the teachers: To familiarise parents with their child’s classroom activities and progress, Parent Teacher Meetings will be held on the second Saturday of every month between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m.
Routine letters and notices will be sent through the child’s diary. Parents are expected to check the diary daily and acknowledge such communication by counter-signing them.
